I finished these Sunshiney Beauties about a month ago... but only recently got around to photographing them. The warm golden yellow was just perfect at the time I think... to bring a little brightness into my day.
The Pattern: Salor by Hunter Hammersen (From the great new book Silk Road Socks! Please, Please, Please, pick up a copy! It's a great book full of great patterns!)
I really enjoyed these socks! Especially that they were complex enough to be captivating and interesting, but not so much that I couldn't memorize them and work on them while travelling around with family. I particularly love the heels - those twisty little cables are very elegant looking!

The only modification I made really, was to extend the pattern all of the way down the foot. I didn't do it on purpose! I was away from home at the time, and I just kept knitting until I was 3 inches from the toe (like you do with many other patterns) and didn't realize I was supposed to stop. Oh well, I hope Hunter will forgive me - I just added more of a good thing... mmmkay?
I'm definitely adding that heel to my repertoire... and maybe the tops as well... hmmm I sense a hybrid plain / Salor sock coming on... :)
Also, the Knit Picks Stroll Tonal was wonderful to work with. As always. I think I have every color they make it in now...
